i wanted the cake to be as accurate as possible.
i mean i WAS a science teacher people!!
TRAYLOR MADE TREATS did an amazing job with the table of elements
and added so much by giving it a chalkboard backdrop
{amanda that was seriously brilliant}
AND it was AMAZING!! chocolate cake with peanut butter?? to die for!

the cupcake toppers were by the ALWAYS AMAZING
whenever i get her toppers in the mail i feel like i need to step up my party game!
they almost always inspire me to add another element that fits just perfect with the theme.
i baked the "vegan" cupcakes in cups like the ones from THIS SHOP
{any vegan/allergy kids out there? these have no dairy or egg.
 i use a dairy free box mix and sub the eggs for applesauce and
the milk for soy milk and bake them a little longer. the frosting is a dairy free and store bought}
AND the BEST part?
watching my little guy ACTUALLY GET TO EAT A CUPCAKE AT A PARTY!!

i bought the cookie cutters HERE on amazon
but honestly if you want mine just email me - how many science parties am i going to have?
um. one.
i will be posting the RECIPE too asap.
i'll link back to this post so you will be able to find it.
aren't those sprinkles the cutest little bubbles?
here are some more fun ideas for science cookies & cakes.

you are not a true follower if you don't know how obsessed i am with macarons.
i think these were my BEST BATCH!
YOU CAN MAKE THESE! i mean if i can - anyone can.
click HERE to see my DIY GUIDE TO MACARONS

it can't be all sweets right?

DNA pasta
simple. cheap. clever.
spiral pasta with yellow, green, and orange diced peppers tossed in balsamic dressing
{if you don't get this you need to google what DNA looks like... and maybe go back to high school.}

fruit molecules
honeydew & cantelope scooped with a melon baller.
again - cheap & simple
i REALLY wanted to make model molecules of CO2 & H2O ect...
but someone sensible reeled me in.
{if you don't have someone sensible around you please do this and send me a pic. i would love it.}

double helix cheese
SO simple!! i just bought these and stuck them in a cup!
healthy, simple, cheap... and i'll give it to myself again - clever :)
{again. if you don't get this - google it.}

candy
i used color coordinating candy to add little details around the party
{skittles and mike & ikes}
note: separating the candy takes time. but a 3 year old can do it.
i know- i made mine do it.
and even though she ate a candy here and there it kept her busy for a good hour or so!
oh - and the test tubes & rack were from amazon

brain pops
i made these using THIS mold i found
and pink candy melts
it was so easy!
aren't these favor bag tags adorable? you can find them HERE

eat your fruits and veggies!
anything green/orange would work these are just what i had on hand

DRINKS
we used the printables from spaceships and laserbeams,
clear plastic cups & a sharpe to make measurements!
such a simple thing but it made a big difference!
{the drink is just orange gatorade}

  1. You made my day again! Would love to know the non-dairy and egg recipe deets for cupcakes! The hubs had allergies for 22 years...grew out of them...and they resurfaced 22 years later! {Maybe he'll grow out of them in another 22 years!}

  3. My friend's son is turning 5 in OCT. Whoohoo you just made my job a lot easier.
    Just checked out your 'costume' post. OMG, t-shirts? really. LOVE THAT! I was going crazy looking for lab coats.

    We're having the party at the Children's museum, so I was thinking including instructions for kid friendly experiments in the favor bags.

    THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Can't wait for his party. Best parts: 1: his mom is a science major (Chemistry) and former teacher, 2: this is will so be great. He's on the autism scale. We've notice he's gravitating towards exploring his world. BRILLIANT.

    We're going to do the Cola + Mentos experiment for his bday photo shoot!

  4. What a fabulously well thought out party. I think it takes so much more effort to plan an attractive boys party, this one would actually be suitable for both boys and girls and a great age range. Well Done.
