{SWEET TOOTH} cupid crunch popcorn

{SWEET TOOTH TUESDAY}
cupid crunch popcorn

welcome to another sweet tooth tuesday where
crystal from SWEET TOOTH shares a sweet treat with us!
this popcorn recipe is easy AND yummy!

My kids had a little party at their German school today and the teacher asked us to bring something American to share with the class. I thought that this party mix would be a sure hit, not only for my budget to bring snacks to 30+ kids but also an easy delectable delight!
What I love most about this is that you can use whatever you have on hand. In the past I used pretzels but this time I did not have any but I had Chex mix cereal and that worked out perfect.

Here are the basic Supplies:
1 bag white chocolate chips and 1 Tbsp oil
( I like mine with extra chocolate so I add an extra bag)
2 bags popped popcorn
1 bag valentine themed plain M&M’s
3 cups chex mix cereal (or pretzels)
½ bag of mini marshmallows
Pink Wilton food gel

Assembly:
1.     Pop your popcorn and place it in a separate bowl/strainer. Hand scoop your popcorn into another bowl (crunching on a kernel ruins the experience! So be sure to exclude those party poopers from your batch.)
2.  Add your dry ingredients one at a time and mix it well but not too aggressively
(like my two year old who ended up causing some popcorn casualties).
3.  Using the 1 TSB of oil coat your chocolate chips, microwave for 30 seconds take it out and stir it then microwave again for 30 seconds. If it is not melting don’t keep microwaving it -chocolate burns easy. Just add a tad more oil and keep stirring a minute more and then microwave for another 30 sec. (for most microwaves). Drizzle your chocolate onto the mix and gently stir.
4.  Cover your counter in wax paper and roll out the “Cupid Crunch” letting it dry for 15 min. If you don’t do this step you will have one large mass!
5.  I set aside a little extra chocolate, stir in pink gel, and drizzle it on top at the end.
