Hello Creative Juice fans, I'm excited to be here today sharing a fun idea for summer entertaining! Everyone loves a picnic, it can turn even the simplest meal into an adventure. Both the adults and kids can relax, chit-chat, fill their bellies and stay entertained with outdoor activities.
This picnic inspired party was styled for our family reunion, which was also doubling as my grandmother's 80th birthday celebration. Since we were having a potluck BBQ the day of her birthday I decided to go with a fun picnic theme and set up the display table to incorporate lots of summer picnic decor. I started with red and white checked fabric as my inspiration and went from there adding pops of bright green, watermelon, ants and a few rustic touches,. I made fabric banners for the backdrop and created the "Celebrate" banner and the table signs with my Cricut. The custom cupcake toppers and favor tags were made using these printables found on Etsy. I filled small cellophane bags with red and green fruit candies, and salt water taffy for favors.
I hope I've inspired you to celebrate summer with a picnic style party either for a birthday celebration or just-for-fun. No matter what you are celebrating you can't go wrong with this simple, yet stylish theme!
