your basic bow

wondering what to do with all our ribbon? i was asked to show how to do a basic bow from a few of you and so here you go:

1. start with some hair clips, you can find them everywhere, i got a box at sallies beauty supply 100 for 4-5 bucks.

2. measure out your ribbon to a desired length to cover the clip
3.hot glue it on by inserting the ribbon in first, then place the glue on top. that way your not gluing your clip shut.
4.then get your desired ribbon. my leanghts are different every time depending on how big and loopy i want it. i just play with it until i get what i want.

5. then you make a loop, then loop it again like a figure 8.

6. hold it tightly and secure it in a clip.

7. get a wire and bend it in the shape of a "u" and thread it between the prongs

8. its really all in the wiring and how tight you get it. i use my husbands wire cutters to twist it tight.

9. get another ribbon, tie a knot

10. then glue it over the center

once you get the hang of the basic bow just let your creative juices flow and who knows where you might end up! (bow on the top left i bought as a flower, the flower bows on the top right i made using fabric. DIY at a later date)
