RAINBOW JELLY BEAN BIRTHDAY PARTY
i live in northern california and one of our family’s
favorite outings is to the jelly belly factory!
aubrey was so excited about
this theme for her party
{and so was her brother ... my little guy has lots of
allergies
and jelly belly beans are vegan and safe for him to enjoy too}
since aubrey’s birthday occurred in the middle of writing my
book,
i relied quite a bit on the incredible vendors listed at the end to help make
her day special!
i also relied on a simple color scheme: rainbow!
the
printables were designed by Bird’s Party-
the jelly bean & striped
patterns were exactly what I was looking for – they were just perfect!
she was pretty excited :)
custom "jellybean" scented SOAP favors...
get it??? clean YOUR jelly BELLY? well i thought it was funny!

the food:
amanda from Traylor Made Treats created this
beautiful cake to incorporate the printable designs by Bird’s Party – and of
course the bottom tier was rainbow layers with yummy vanilla swiss meringue
buttercream! i served easy and kid friendly food: JELL-o and JELLY sandwiches…
get it?! i also used the fruit cups from The Tomkat Studio in a symmetrical set
up with fruit that color coordinated with the cup! the kids really loved this
part! i found cups and plates at target that were perfect colors/patterns &
served the colorful drinks with colorful striped straws from Spiral Sage Shop. the
kids also loved eating from the fun and colorful forks created by Sucre Shop!
table backdrop:
i am a big fan of using cheap tablecloths... for
only $7 i was able to get a tablecloth in each color, cut it down the middle
and create this draped backdrop! the table was set in a 2 inch nook in my
dining room so i hung the tablecloths from a spring-loaded bar across the top. i gathered them off to the sides with ribbon and taped it to the poster board
backdrop. super easy and super cheap way to get a big punch of color!
favors & the jelly bean bar:
i wanted to re-create a
jelly belly store in my house for each kid to sample and take home a bag with
jelly beans of their choice. i went to the outlet store near me and they
generously offered samples of assorted bags of jelly beans, bags for them to
fill, and even hats for the kids! the kids really loved being able to fill
their bags with colorful jelly beans!
each kid also received a patterned favor bag from Spiral Sage Shop with a toy in it! They also were able to pick out a fun smelling
jelly bean soap that was custom made by Sun Basil Garden Soaps. i got a little
“punny” with my sign “Be sure to clean YOUR jelly BELLY!”… well I thought it
was funny even if the kids didn’t really get it!
activities:
i picked up a fun “bean boozled” game… but the kids were not
so into that – pencil shavings, skunk, and moldy cheese were not really their
cup of tea! i tried to convince the moms to play but everyone was a little
skittish after someone ate the canned dog food one… i don’t blame them!
BUT they did love the jelly bean artwork! at the jelly belly
factory there are huge portraits of celebrities made out of all jelly beans SEE THEM HERE - they are amazing! i thought we could do a scaled down version of this by
creating a nameplate for the kids doors. with help from their parents, they
glued jelly beans to poster board to spell out their names. and then of course
we had the bounce house set up for all of our little “jumping jelly beans”!
I loved this party because it really was so simple!
A great
and easy color scheme,
