{KEEP CA BEAUTIFUL} and a secret...

{keep CA beautiful}
want to know a secret?
before i started styling parties and dessers & making unique macarons.... i went to college.
you may not believe that when you read some of my posts.... so clearly i didn't study english.
i was a BIOLOGY major!
i graduated and taught several years of high school science. I LOVED IT. my favorite class EVER that i taught was environmental science to 12th graders when i was in maryland and then again in ohio. it was my favorite because it was the application of everything they had learned - chemistry, biology, & physics all wrapped up in one. but more than that - it was applicable.
it could be put into action.
it was a science that EVERYONE and ANYONE could be a part of

so allow me to use my degree a little here people with something i truly believe in!!!!!

DID YOU KNOW
2.8 Billion plastic bottles ended up in California landfills in 2011
i live in CA with my family- that number is astounding.
ALL OF IT COULD HAVE BEEN RECYCLED!!!!!

Even though a package says it is “100% recycleable”,
that does not mean it is made with recycled plastic.
It just means it CAN BE recycled.
In fact, most containers are not made of recycled plastic.
its time for that to change.
introducing:
made with 50% recycled plastic

NOW the plastic YOU recycle can be given a new life.
we need your help in recycling
so amazing companies like
can use more recycled plastic in our products!

On America Recycles Day - November 15th Arrowhead launched the ReBorn bottle with a community event in San Francisco. Through a partnership with Keep California Beautiful, about 150 volunteers beautified the Fisherman’s Wharf area by removing waste and recyclables from the Aquatic Park and several Golden Gate National Park locations, Painting and varnishing at Hyde Street Pier and Clearing marine debris using underwater robots with nonprofit Rozalia Project for a Clean Ocean. Nothing makes me happy like seeing CA kept beautiful!
If you live in the Bay Area, you can check out our two Big Belly waste/recycling stations at Fisherman’s Wharf, one at Crissy Field, and one in Pacifica, a town south of San Francisco.

i really believe in this.
i'm proud to partner with Arrowhead’s ongoing commitment to preserving our natural springs and keep california beautiful.
recycled plastic is simply a better source of plastic - better for EVERYONE.
every bit of Arrowhead, both inside and out, is truly Born Better.
trust me. i have a bio degree :)
the new ReBorn Bottle – proof recycling works.

artwork that was made from recycled bottles!
